By Kathy Story, PCDC Board President
Do you have a great time attending Portland Country Dance Community events? Are you glad we’re back to full-swing after the COVID shutdown? Would you like to get to know folks better and feel even more a part of our wonderful community? Do you have ideas about how PCDC can better fulfill its mission? If you answered yes to any of these questions, we’re hoping you’ll consider giving back to the community by serving on the PCDC Board.
The PCDC Board sets policy for the organization, oversees the work of the committees (Portland Contra, Hillsboro Contra, ECD, Raindance, Northwest Passage), organizes the annual picnic, sponsors musician and sound engineer development programs, awards grants for members to attend dance and music camps, and generally keeps the lights on through responsible management of PCDC resources. We meet once a month, sometimes in person and sometimes by Zoom. You would be serving with a dedicated and experienced team of fun folks who are committed to promoting country dance and music traditions.
The election of new PCDC board members will take place via email around June 1st. Board members are elected to 2-year terms and can serve for 3 consecutive terms.
