    PCDC sponsors a contra slow jam on the 1st and 3rd Mondays from 7-9 PM in the community room at McMenamins Kennedy School, 5736 NE 33rd Ave, Portland, OR 97211.

    The events are free and open to all acoustic musicians, whether you play by dots or by ear.

    The contra jam plays tunes from the Portland Collection and the waltz books edited by Bill Matthiesen.

    If you don’t have the books, we’re happy to share. Come make music with us!!

    Our Saturday night series at Fulton Hall continues! Corwin Zekley & Grace Fellows will visit Portland again to make music for us. Kelsey Hartman will visit from the San Francisco Bay Area to call dances using gender-neutral terms.

    Covid precautions are suspended indefinitely!  We will continue to monitor potential exposures at PCDC events and adjust policies as needed. Refer to the PCDC Covid policy for details.

    7:00 pm newcomer/refresher lesson
    7:30 pm dancing starts
    10:30 dancing ends
    Some dancers head to a pub for "afters" -- all are welcome!

    Note: This is the 3rd Thursday of the month (rather than our typical 2nd Thursday of the month)

    Join us for a backyard jam session led by George Penk.  All acoustical instruments, all levels welcome!  We play by ear, so no need to bring any books (unless you want to!).

    When: Thurs, 7/18, 7-9pm
